Ballot Question Overview
Repeal Government Overreach
Chapter 135 isn’t about safety—it’s about control. It strips rights, bypasses voters, and creates a dangerous precedent. If they can register and restrict this right, they can do it to any right.

Civil Rights at Risk
🔒 Your rights shouldn’t depend on a license.
Chapter 135 criminalizes law-abiding citizens, forcing you to register constitutionally protected property and prove your innocence to exercise your rights.

Discriminates Against the Poor
💸 A law for the wealthy, a burden for the rest.
Live-fire training, registration fees, and complex licensing rules disproportionately impact low-income and urban communities.

No Impact on Crime
🚔 Punishes the innocent while ignoring the violent.
“There’s no evidence that Chapter 135 reduces crime. It targets legal gun owners—not gangs, traffickers, or violent offenders.”

Redefines Your Property
📦 Your hunting rifle, now a restricted weapon.
“Chapter 135 reclassifies shotguns and rifles that were previously legal, with no grandfathering. You must now register or surrender them.”

Privacy Violations
🧠 Your name, your guns, in a government database.
“Law-abiding citizens are being entered into the same CJIS system as criminals. One breach and criminals could know who owns what.”

Emergency Powers Misused
⚠️ Governor Healey bypassed the voters.
“The Governor issued a late ’emergency’ declaration to stop your right to vote on the law. That’s not democracy—it’s authoritarianism.”

Analytics & Reporting
Since 2012, 700 New Gun laws… yet Crime & Suicides have skyrocketed!
Since their inception in 2012, groups like MA Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence and Giffords have celebrated over 700 new gun laws nationwide, yet violent crime remains unmoved while suicides, drug overdoses, and hangings have surged to alarming levels.
The evidence is undeniable. Violent crime rates are unaffected by the flood of new gun legislation
Criminals are the Issue!
Violent Criminals DON’T Obey Gun Laws!
Criminals won’t comply. They won’t register. They won’t serialize. They’ll keep doing what they’ve always done—obtaining illegal firearms through theft or trafficking. They will murder, rape and pillage, while law abiding citizens are left defenseless. These regulations will not stop them.

Leaders are Ignoring the Truth
It’s not a Gun Violence Issue – It’s a Gang Violence Issue!
The real epidemic isn’t gun ownership—it’s untreated mental despair, addiction and violent gangs ravaging our youth while gun control advocates look the other way.

Most people are not aware of the tremendous persecution, discrimination and attacks against law abiding citizens exercising their 2nd amendment rights

Jaime Caetano – Stun Gun Arrest
Arrested – Self Defense using a Stun Gun
Ms. Caetano was assaulted and used a stun gun for protection, legally none of her fault.
Despite self-defense context, MA laws classified stun guns as illegal, and she was prosecuted.
The SJC ruled stun guns weren’t protected under the Second Amendment (not “in common use”)—though this was later overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in her favor.

Dean Donnell & Phillip Marquis (Granite State Residents)
Both were legally carrying firearms in New Hampshire when they encountered car accidents in MA.
Dean Donnell: Involved in a crash on I‑495; found with a legally owned firearm in his car—initial lower court sided with him, but MA Supreme Judicial Court later upheld MA’s right to charge him post-Bruen, since laws had been updated

Kevin
Massachusetts Resident
Kevin shared how his firearms were seized without notice after his wife filed a 209A abuse prevention order, despite no threats, no violence, and no due process. At the hearing, she could not cite a single threatening word, yet the judge upheld the order and refused to release his property. This incident—now permanently on his record—may cost him his job working with law enforcement as a CJIS-certified IT professional. According to his attorneys, this type of abuse is widespread in Massachusetts, where 209A orders are often granted without scrutiny, violating the rights of innocent citizens.

Patrick
FID Holder now a Felon
Patrick has legally owned a semi-automatic duck hunting shotgun for over 20 years. He has an FID card and is unable to get a License to Carry due to an incident when he was 13. He is an avid hunter, and now a Felon under Chapter 135.

Quick Answers to the most commonly asked Questions
What is Chapter 135?
Chapter 135 is a sweeping 116-page law passed in July 2024 that overhauls Massachusetts firearm regulations. It mandates registration of all rifles and shotguns, restricts legal ownership, expands government tracking, establishes an enormous database (previous version was hacked) and imposes new licensing burdens on law-abiding citizens. It was signed into law, and 71 days after passage, when it looked like we would suspend it, Governor Healey declared a State Emergency and issued an “emergency preamble” that blocked citizens from suspending it through the normal referendum process.
Why are you repealing the entire law and not just the bad sections?
Full Site Editing in WordPress refers to a feature that allows users to create and edit their website’s entire layout, including the header, footer, and other structural elements, using a visual editor.
Does repealing Chapter 135 eliminate all gun laws in Massachusetts?
No. Repealing Chapter 135 removes the new restrictions but leaves all existing gun laws in place—including background checks, licensing, and safety requirements. Massachusetts will still have some of the strictest firearm laws in the country.
I don’t own a gun. Why should I care?
Because this is about civil liberties, not just firearms. If the state can force you to register protected property, delay your rights, and criminalize compliance errors—what’s next? Free speech? Religious beliefs? Personal data? This fight is about drawing the line.
What about school shootings and public safety?
We all want safer communities—but Chapter 135 does not address the root causes of violence. It punishes lawful citizens, not violent offenders. Solutions should focus on mental health, gang violence, and enforcement of existing laws—not infringing on rights.
❓What happens if the repeal passes?
Chapter 135 will be rescinded. The firearm laws in place before its passage will remain, and any unconstitutional, burdensome provisions will be repealed. No one’s rights or safety will be at risk—only overreach will be rolled back
Didn’t the Governor stop you with the emergency preamble?
The Governor signed an “emergency” clause after the law passed to block a citizen suspension. But under the Massachusetts Constitution, we still have the right to vote on it—and we will. The repeal question is on the November 2026 ballot.
