Will You Help Us Share the Truth?
When we started this Ballot Question Committee, we made a promise: to challenge propaganda and share the truth with the people of Massachusetts.
Today, we are calling out Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Ron Mariano (representing #Holbrook, #Quincy, and #Weymouth).
Earlier, Speaker Mariano proudly stated:
“Strong gun laws save lives. I’m incredibly proud of the work that we’ve done in Massachusetts to ensure that the Commonwealth will once again have the lowest gun death rate in America.”
But here’s the truth: This statement is misleading.
If strong gun laws truly saved lives, why are our cities and urban communities being decimated by violence? Why are families suffering under failed policies that refuse to address the root causes of crime?
The facts speak louder than rhetoric:
- Massachusetts ranks between 25th and 27th in violent crime rates nationwide.
- Urban areas in Massachusetts, where legal gun ownership is the lowest and gun control is the strictest, have violent crime rates above the national average.
- Even Illinois, home to Chicago, ranks safer overall.
The real problems?
- Failed urban policies that ignore the root causes of violence.
- Revolving-door justice systems that release violent offenders back onto our streets.
- Untreated mental health crises devastating families across the state.
Law-abiding gun owners are not the problem.
This isn’t a gun issue. It’s about failed leadership, mental health, and broken policies that leave our communities unsafe.
